This is great. Here’s what I like and don’t like. This is great. Here’s what I like and don’t like. 

The biggest shift in my energy didn’t come from hustling to blindly embed every new wellness trend into my routine. 

It came from paying attention.

For the last few weeks, I’ve been running little energy experiments by tuning into what ACTUALLY fuels me vs. what I am conditioned to think should fuel me. 

Not the latest trending post. Not what someone else swears by. But what ACTUALLY holds up in my life, with my energy, in my body and my soul. 

Some experiments have stuck. Some flopped.

The real gift has been in acting with a compassionate and curious mindset towards myself. 

Observing without judgement, listening to my cues, not gaslighting my own signals based on what I think I “should” do. 

How crazy is it that we blindly adopt these “shoulds” based on what we see works for OTHER people on their highlight reels. 

We SHOULD all over ourselves!

So here’s my little love note to myself. I hope it inspires you you to act with a little compassion and curiosity towards yourself today.

Rest didn’t make me lose my edge - it helped me s Rest didn’t make me lose my edge -  it helped me sharpen it with intention. I’ve redefined what “success” means on my terms: deep rest, tuned-in choices, and ambition that honours my energy, not overrides it.

I’ve learned now that having ambition doesn’t have to be all grit and grind all the time… Mine now includes sleep (boy do I love sleep), compassionate but firm boundaries, and most importantly - JOY! 

Getting my smile back means everything to me.  The irony? I am doing better at work than ever and have enough energy to chase my side quest dreams too! Far better than when my brain was guilting me into “never doing enough”. Go figure.

☀️ AM anchors
• Sunlight walk: 10 to 30 mins of natural light soon after waking helps set your body clock and gently shortens the time it takes to fall asleep later that night
• Lemon water in the sunshine: If movement’s not on the cards, sit outside or by a sunny window with your morning drink for at least 10 mins
• Window open: Let morning rays and cooler air in, both help to anchor your circadian rhythm
• Smart bulb sunrise: Living somewhere with late sunrises (like Melbourne winters)? A full spectrum bulb set early helps gently cue your body into waking mode when it’s still dark outside

🌙 PM wind-downs
• Warm, soft lighting: Switching to low, golden toned lights 1 to 2 hours before bed helps your body begin winding down, bright lights can delay melatonin release without us realising
• Cherries for dessert: A small serve of tart cherries brings a little natural melatonin and tryptophan to the mix, paired with magnesium hot choc, it’s a dreamy duo
• Phone charging in another room: This is the only tip that actually stops me scrolling, reduces blue light, midnight wake-ups, and racing thoughts
• Chamomile tea: I love a warm pot of chamomile and spearmint or ashwagandha tea before bed, apigenin in chamomile helps calm the nervous system, and I truly feel the difference in my sleep quality when I stay consistent with it

A morning walk (ideally with a little sunshine 🌞) isn’t just aesthetic…

It literally:
1. Boosts serotonin 👆
2. Lowers cortisol 👇
3. Helps your body clock 🕰️
4. Regulates your nervous system 🧠

Not all movement needs to be super sweaty to be potent enough to recharge and help you tone up🔋
